LIVE User-Generated High Dynamic Range Database (LIVE UGC-HDR)

Introduction

High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos are better capable of capturing real-world color and contrast information in comparison to Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) videos, making them more aesthetically pleasing. Traditionally, the production of HDR videos has been restricted to professional production houses that use sophisticated camera equipment. However, the recent introduction of HDR-capable smartphones to the market has opened up avenues for the creation of user-generated HDR videos.

The LIVE-UGC HDR database is the first large-scale publicly-available database of its kind, and provides a collection of 10-bit HDR videos filmed by amateur iPhone users. These videos include both 1080p and 4K resolutions, and framerates of 30 and 60 fps.

Note: LIVE UGC-HDR only contains HDR videos. If you are looking for a resource that includes HDR videos tone-mapped manually by a human expert, please refer to the new LIVE-TMHDR database!

Database Description

The database consists of 2,153 10-bit High Dynamic Range (HDR) source contents filmed on iPhones by amateur users. All videos use the HLG encoding function and Rec. 2100 primaries.
